Ways to Contribute

Every donor has a big impact here at Mathcamp: we're a small organization and we know our donors by name. Our goal at Mathcamp is to bring an exceptional educational and residential experience to every qualified student, regardless of financial circumstances. We do this by running a lean operation: we spend less than 2% of our annual budget on fundraising, and we make the program happen with only three full-time year-round staff (plus a small corps of part-time staff, an incredible seasonal team, and a big army of volunteers). Our priority is to keep expenses low and scholarships high. And you can help!

Cash Contributions

Ask your employer if they will make a matching contribution to double your impact! Mathcamp is a program of the Mathematics Foundation of America (EIN 57-1035414), a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, and your gift is tax-deductible. Here are three methods for giving:

  • Online Donations
You can easily and securely make a one-time or recurring gift to Mathcamp right from our website.
  • By Mail
Skip the 2% processing fee for online donations and use the mail instead! To donate the old-fashioned way, make your check out to "Mathcamp" and send it to:

    Mathcamp

  • Through a Donor-Advised Fund

In-Kind Donations

In addition to money, we gratefully accept in-kind gifts! Here's our wishlist.

  • Math Books, Software, and Games
We are grateful for the past and present contributions of Springer-Verlag Publishing (makers of the Undergraduate Texts in Mathematics series) and Wolfram Research (makers of Mathematica software). If your company would like to provide books (textbooks at the undergraduate or beginning graduate level, or books for a broader scientifically literate audience), software, or games, our students would very much appreciate it! You can make a one-time contribution to the Mathcamp lending library (which students can enjoy during the summer) or a recurring donation which we can give to students each year upon completion of the program.
  • Frequent Flier Miles
If you have some extra frequent flier miles, consider donating 25,000 miles to Mathcamp: you can provide a travel scholarship for a student who might not otherwise be able to afford to come.
  • Office Supplies
For five weeks every summer, we run an office that requires lots and lots of supplies: printer paper, blue painter's tape, pens – you name it. Your business can support Mathcamp by donating office supplies.
  • Printing Companies
We print 250-300 t-shirts and 150-200 yearbooks each summer at Mathcamp. Your business can support Mathcamp by providing free or low-cost printing!
  • Rental Equipment
Do you have a small business or company that can lend Mathcamp a refrigerator or water cooler for five weeks?

Mathcamp needs all sorts of other things to run – like many gallons of laundry detergent, and hundreds of pillows, and thousands of cookies! – and if you are in a position to make an in-kind donation of any variety, please contact us via email to discuss.

Major Gifts

Tuition alone makes up only about 50% of Mathcamp's annual budget; it is the support of generous alumni and family foundations that makes Mathcamp possible. If you are considering a major gift to Mathcamp, please get in touch via email or phone (888-371-4159).
