The Mathematics Foundation of America Fellowship

We are pleased to offer a new scholarship opportunity for low-income students who demonstrate academic readiness for Mathcamp: the Mathematics Foundation of America Fellowship. It will be awarded to one or more students per year who are passionate about mathematics and would benefit from year-round support.

The Fellowship includes:

  • up to three years of full tuition and travel for attending Canada/USA Mathcamp
  • year-round mentorship
  • access to online math classes throughout high school

The deadline to apply is March 12, 2020. There is no fee to apply. Click here to begin your Fellowship application.

Eligibility Requirements

To be considered for the Fellowship, the applicant must meet the following eligibility requirements:

  • Grade level: Entering 9th, 10th, 11th, or 12th grade in the fall of 2020.
  • Mathematics: Have completed a course in Precalculus or higher, and qualify for Mathcamp (via the Application for Admission).
  • Income: Demonstrate unmet financial need (via the Application for Financial Aid). We will consider applicants with family income up to $80,000.
  • Location: Reside in the U.S. or a U.S. territory.

All students in the U.S. are eligible to apply, regardless of ethnicity, national origin, or immigration status. First preference is given to those who are in the first generation of their families to pursue higher education.

(Note that if you are ineligible to apply for the Fellowship but are interested in Mathcamp and would need financial assistance to attend, don't worry! All students are eligible to apply for scholarships through the regular Financial Aid application.)

Application Materials and Process

To be considered for this award, please compose short-answer responses of no more than 250 words each in response to the following two prompts:
