A Summer Program for Mathematically Talented High-School Students from around the World

Who can attend Mathcamp?

High-school and middle-school students from around the world, who enjoy mathematics and are good at it, are encouraged to apply for admission to Mathcamp. All students must be between 13 and 18 years of age. For Mathcamp 2008, your birth date must be between August 1989 and July 1995.

Most Mathcamp students come from the USA or Canada, but we also have a significant contingent of international students. Home countries of past Mathcampers have included Australia, Bulgaria, China, the Czech Republic, Egypt, England, France, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, Hungary, India, Japan, Korea, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Macedonia, Mexico, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Singapore, Spain, Switzerland, Taiwan, Thailand, and Turkey. In 2007, 13% of the students at the camp were from overseas.

Mathcamp seeks out and actively encourages applications from girls and from minority students. These applicants are given special consideration for scholarships. You can read about some girls' experiences at Mathcamp here.

The tremendous variety of students at Mathcamp is one of the camp's greatest assets. As one of our students put it, "At Mathcamp you meet many new, nice, encouraging, interesting, and weird people. I got to see a whole new world of people that I wouldn't have encountered around here or at school."

If you would like to speak with a former Mathcamp student about his or her experience at the camp, email us and we'll put you in touch with someone. It would help if you could tell us a little about yourself (age, grade, gender, interests, etc.), so we can match you up with someone you'd enjoy talking to.
